I decided to ask apple the question how many apps are on the App Store. After a 23minute and 17 second wait they finally talked to me and answered my question very vaigly saying that in 2012 when they last did a survey there were 650,000 apps. The contact number is 0844 209 0611. I wouldn’t call unless you wish to wait 20 minutes. I’m not 100 percent that its the primary source.

You could reasonably say that this is a primary source – but as a good journalist, you presented the unreliability of the information.
